The site used to be the former Casa Meyfort, which was acquired by GuocoLand back in 2018 for $319.88m. With an estimated development charge of $57.2m, it works out to about $1,580 per square foot per plot ratio. Meyer Mansion will feature a single 25-storey tower with 200 units. Its estimated TOP is set to be the first half of 2024.

What’s to like about the location?
1. Prestigious address
Before reclamation works in Marine Parade in the 60s, the area in which Meyer Mansion sits on used to be fronted by the beach and sea. Decked out in recreation clubs, private homes and holiday bungalows for the wealthy, the neighbourhood was also popular during the weekends with families who would flock to the area to enjoy activities by the beachfront.
Today, the area is just as exclusive and is known as one of the most prime neighbourhoods in Tanjong Katong, with luxury condos and bungalows peppered throughout. Units facing across from Meyer Road will likely enjoy relatively unblocked views since the area is covered mainly be low-lying landed homes.
We visited the site on a weekday during peak hours, and as it’s some way inside from arterial Mountbatten Road, the place is idyllic and laidback with few traffic passing through Meyer Road, where the condo borders.
The ECP also runs through on the other side of Meyer Mansion, so you might have to contend with some noise from the expressway. But judging from the site map of the development, non-residential structures will be set throughout the periphery of the site, buffering much of the traffic noise.
The noise from the expressway ECP will likely be buffered by amenities and non-residential structures within Meyer Mansion.
2. Fringes of the city
Meyer Mansion is located just at the fringes of the city—some units might even capture views of the city skyline. It is minutes away from the Downtown Core. Driving to key business districts in Singapore like Paya Lebar Quarter, Raffles Place and the Marina Bay Financial Centre takes just less than 15 mins.
If you take the public transport, you will be pleased to know that the upcoming Katong Park MRT is located only 600 metres of an 8-min walk away from Meyer Mansion. The station is part of the upcoming Thomson-East Coast Line, which is estimated to be completed by 2024 in five stages. Katong Park station will be completed in the fourth stage in 2023, just in time for Meyer Mansion’s TOP date.
Once the train station is completed, it will only take four stops to reach Marina Bay Interchange, linking residents to the Circle and North-South Lines and just five stops to reach the heart of CBD district, Shenton Way.
What this means for you is that you will get to enjoy shorter commuting hours to your workplaces, whether you’re driving or taking the train. The shorter commuting hours is a huge deal, particularly if you’re thinking of buying for long-term rental investment. Expats will always want to be located near their workplaces and with Meyer Mansion’s close proximity to all these key city districts, you already have a large pool of potential renters.
3. Panoramic sea views and the sea breeze
Besides being located close to the city, Meyer Mansion is also situated right across from East Coast Park, allowing residents to enjoy the best of both worlds—city living and the tranquillity of being close to nature and the sea.
Future residents walk through a park connector just as the back of the condo to reach an underpass that leads them directly to the beach park in just under 15 mins. During the site visit, we found the park connector to be particularly popular with dog walkers and joggers.
The underpass that takes you from Meyer Mansion to East Coast Park.
If the views captured from Casa Meyfort are any indication, units facing the East Coast Park will likely enjoy the same vistas of the sea and the cooling sea breeze. According to the developer, these will be units from the 14th floor onwards.
4. Good food, wonderful local culture
Within walking distance is East Coast Road, which is known as a food paradise, with a large variety of local and international cuisines ranging from Peranakan and Vietnamese to Japanese and Indonesian. Along the sidewalks and alleyways, you will find bars, cafes, restaurants and as well as bakeries and takeaway kiosks. A lot of the eateries also open late into the night, so you’ll never want for dining out options. Famed eats include 328 Katong Laksa, Kim Choo Kueh Chang, Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice and Zaffron Kitchen.
East Coast Road is lined with eateries aplenty.
While you’re filling up your stomachs, take in the local Peranakan culture, which is evident in the Peranakan museums, batik and Nyonya kueh shops as well as the vibrant hues and distinctive architecture from the shophouses lining the street.
This local heritage isn’t just along East Coast Road. It’s generally found in the larger Katong enclave, of which Meyer Mansion sits within. Not only does this lend a distinct charm to the neighbourhood, it also makes the area a lot more attractive to live in.
5. Convenience just minutes away
Despite its idyllic location, convenience is just a few minutes away. Major shopping malls like Parkway Parade, 112 Katong, Kallang Wave Mall and Suntec City are about 5 to 10 minutes away by car. In those malls, you’ll find a wide range of retail options as well as supermarkets and specialty grocers where you can find most of your daily necessities. A 16-min drive or 10 train stops along the Thomson-East Coast MRT Line will also take you to Singapore’s main shopping district, Orchard Road.
There are also plenty of schools in the area. Preschools include Montessori, Blossom Glittering Campus and Japanese preschool, Konohana Kindergarten. The nearest primary schools are Tanjong Katong Primary School and Kong Hwa School, which are a 4- and 6-min drive away respectively. If you’re renting to expat families, the Canadian International School (Tanjong Katong Campus)’s close proximity (16-min walk) will make a unit at Meyer Mansion attractive to rent.
Besides the future train station, Katong Park, there are also plenty of bus stops along Mountbatten Road and Tanjong Katong Road South (both of which are within a short walking distance from Meyer Mansion). Buses there take you to areas like Botanic Gardens, Orchard Road, Bedok, Buona Vista, Clarke Quay and Changi Airport.
